PctHPs bug?

Post by kellewic » Sun Jun 13, 2004 4:19 am

I noticed the other day that PctHPs for a dead PC shows the max value for an unsigned int. NPC corpses do not do this, they show 0 (zero) as they should. Might be a bug in EQ itself, but thought I'd mention it.

I am using the latest download (6/3).

I'm not sure its really a "bug" since corpses dont have health anyway, but an interesting observation

Yeah, it's not really a big deal, but thought I'd throw it out there since NPC corpses do show 0 as PctHPs when they are dead. I'm figuring it's an overflow somewhere (either in MQ2 or EQ itself) in that a -1 is being pushed into an unsigned int.

Actually it is happening occasionally on NPC corpses. I was trying to use this to let me know if I have killed all the mobs in the aggrolist. And sometimes it would return a health of 11 for a corpse that it targeted. I had to take out these checks, cause it kept trying to attack the corpse. Both ${Target.PctHPs} and ${Spawn[${AgrolistMobID}].PctHPs} didnt return consistantly 0 hps. No idea how or why, but it is annoying.
