Is there a way to run macros (to test for errors and such) without being in EverQuest? I've looked for other discussions of this, couldnt find any, if there is some somewhere, point me in the direction if you could. Thanks!

Nope.
If it's a firewall issue preventing you from getting to the live EQ servers for testing, you might look into the current batch of EMU's. You may be able to run a local EMU for testing macros.

Nah, it's not really an issue of firewalls or anything. I am just at school atm. I can't install EverQuest here really install anything lol. You know those admin stuffs...I am just trying to write a lame macro and wanted to test it. I'm no good at programming really (yet), so I've got to test it, therefor the need for access to EQ.

Actually, the devs have discussed a MacroQuest testbed at various times. A standalone application that would allow us to check parameters, syntax, macros and what not without having to log on to EQ.
It would be an ambitious undertaking, so we aren't likely to see it anytime soon. I was going to lay out the basics over the Christmas holidays, but never really got the chance to work on it.

I've been looking for something along those lines.
A MQ development environment. Sorta like VC++.. It would be interesting to be able to run it through a debugger and have it spit back any errors it came up with. Hell, I'd use it. ALOT.

Aye, this would be perfect for testing/writing while at work.
...on lunch break, of course.

I agree this is would be very useful.
Nothing I fear more than writing some really crappy script which puts me in a state where I am turbo looping an /em; /ooc; /shout; or doing something extremely obvious.
I find it hard being very adventurous with code becuase of the listed reasons above... being a noob coder and all.
